Mission
Statement
The mission of
F.A.I.T.H. is to reduce recidivism by developing the God given human
resource that is the evidence of His presence in each person. In
this process it is our stated goal to discover and disseminate this
divine knowledge and its application in ways that reach into and beyond
the boundaries of the prison gates, and to serve and stimulate
society to respond compassionately to the problems faced by
prisoners reentering the world.
Inherent in this mission is guidance towards and, when possible,
provision of, a full spectrum of human services geared towards, but not
limited to, instruction, training,
employment, and public service designed to improve the struggle of
reentry. Most importantly, it is the aim of F.A.I.T.H., as the
name in implies, to accomplish this mission in a way that seeks always
to be Christ centered and uncompromising in service to him.
In
fulfilling this mission, F.A.I.T.H.
will:
- Teach and
seek instruction in the sound theological principles of the Catholic
Christian Faith and instill the deeper truth that Jesus Christ is the
source of all true rehabilitiation.
- Provide
ex-offenders a bridge to a valued, responsible, law-abiding, and
productive future through seeking holiness above all else.
- Work in
partnership
with churches that understand the deeper spiritual dimensions to
rehabilitation, and with the communities to provide programs and
services that
create meaningful and wholesome employment empowerment for ex-offenders.
- Promote and
strengthen family ties and put family values in a Christian
perspective, fostering
dignity and wholeness for people in transition.
- To prosper
and promote the
root
dignity and personhood of every individual as a child of God and
servent of Jesus Christ.
“We are
all really
responsible for all.” – Pope John Paul II
